The Gem City Market’s architects designing the future market will be hosting open office hours. This is to give members and neighbors the opportunity to weigh in on the site’s plan and design.

The Gem City Market will be a vibrant, community-centered full-service grocery store located along the Salem Avenue corridor, near downtown Dayton. The Market encourages the community and Gem City Market supporters to speak their voice about the design for the site.

The next architect office hours will be held on Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Northwest Branch of the Dayton Metro Library in Community Room A.

Supporters are encouraged to walk in anytime during the set hours of the session and share their thoughts, opinions and ideas on the Gem City Market’s site design and plan.

The mission of Gem City Market is to end food hardship and begin the elimination of the food desert in West Dayton. The store will feature affordable, quality kitchen staples, as well as specialty, local and organic products. Gem City Market will be different from your typical neighborhood grocery store as it will be owned by its workers, customers and supporters from the community.
