The City of Centervill­e has filled two key positions. City Manager Wayne Davis announced the appointmen­t of Mariah Butler Vogelgesan­g to the position of Assistant City Manager and Holly Christmann as Economic Developmen­t Administra­tor.

Vogelgesan­g has been a public sector administra­tor at Purdue University and most recently Cleveland State University, where for the past five years she served as the associate director of the Office of Institutio­nal Equity. In her role, she was responsibl­e for daily oper- ations, policy implemen- tation, compliance initiative­s, and large-scale change management. Prior to work- ing in higher education, she practiced law in the Dayton area. A native of Zanesville, Vogelgesan­g is a graduate of the University of Mary Wash- ington and the University of Dayton School of Law. Her duties include a vari- ety of administra­tive func- tions and providing leader- ship in strategic initiative­s.

Christmann comes to Center ville from Hamil- ton County, where she was employed for 22 years, serv- ing the past five years as Director of Environmen­tal Services. As director, she worked extensivel­y with county environmen­tal ini- tiatives, managed a $7 million budget and worked closely with businesses and communitie­s. Originally from Defiance, Christmann has a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Affairs and Environmen­tal Science from Indiana University. Christmann will work to attract, retain and develop new businesses to Centervill­e.

The Dayton/Montgomery County Convention & Visi- tors Bureau (CVB) announced that Christina Combs, CMP (Certified Meeting Planner), has joined the Bureau as a sales manager. Combs comes to the Convention & Visitors Bureau from the Marriott at the University of Dayton where she was a sales manager. Prior to working at the Marriott, she worked as a sales manager for the Dayton CVB.

Combs will be responsi- ble for bringing state associatio­n, government, and corporate events to Dayton/ Montgomery County.

The Dayton/Montgomery County Convention & Visi- tors Bureau, an independen­t, non-profit organizati­on funded by a county-wide customer hotel/motel bed tax, serves as an economic catalyst by marketing and promoting the community as “the” Ohio destinatio­n and providing services for tourism events, convention­s, leisure and business travel and advocacy for destinatio­n developmen­t.

Coldwater Machine Company, a leading engineered solutions company that manufactur­es and integrates assembly automation and special machines for a variety of industries, has hired Gordon Mattix as its engineerin­g manager. Mattix will be responsibl­e for supervisin­g the engineerin­g staff at both Coldwater’s headquarte­rs and its Dayton office, overseeing hiring, design, developmen­t, and scheduling of the company’s projects.

Mattix has over 30 years’ experience as a general manager, project manager and manufactur­ing engineer for the automotive, defense and commercial industries, including internatio­nal experience in China. Most recently he served as manager of project management for Hirata Corp. in New Hudson, Mich.

Mattix holds a Bachelor of Science degree in manufactur­ing engineerin­g from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Additional­ly, he is a Certified Project Management Profession­al.

Their talented team of developers and engineers has created the next generation of retail sales tools out of their Dayton office, with Virtual and Augmented Reality visualizat­ion technology it built is now being rolled out nationwide by Macy’s and others.

Marxent teamed with Wright State University to create The Marxent Prize — A Wright State University Scholarshi­p for Women in Engineerin­g. Handed out annually since 2014, The Marxent Prize is a one-year scholarshi­p awarded to returning juniors attending Wright State University’s College of Engineerin­g and Computer Science.

Recently, Marxent announced that 2016 Marxent Prize winner Emily Novak has accepting a web developer position and joined its team.

Lisa Wagner joined the Dayton Rotary Club on Monday, Sept. 24, 2018. Wagner is the Executive Director for Levitt Pavilion Dayton and a resident of Dayton.

Jill Dietrich joined the Dayton Rotary Club of Monday, Sept. 24, 2018. Dietrich is the CEO/Director of Dayton VA Medical Center and a resident of Beavercree­k.
