MIAMI VALLEY BRIDGE CENTER GRAND OPENING: Oct. 21, 12 p.m. at Miami Valley Bridge Center, 4559 Marshall Rd., Kettering. The Miami Valley Bridge Center/Association has moved to 4559 Marshall Road in Kettering and is having a Grand Opening Party from noon until 1:30 p.m. There will be refreshments and information about the Bridge Center’s offerings. At 1:30 p.m. there will be a duplicate bridge game lasting until about 5:15 p.m. Partners are provided or bring your own. Located in the Lifepointe Church building, next to the Kettering YMCA, but on the South side of the building (last driveway - used to be Ernst School). New players to the Bridge Center will be given 50% off coupons for a future game.

BEAVERCREEK HISTORICAL SOCIETY OCTOBER QUARTERLY MEETING: Oct.23,7-8 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, 3530 Dayton Xenia Rd., Dayton. There will be a panel discussion regarding the history of the Beavercreek Community Library. Greene County Public Library DirectorKarlColon,GreeneCounty Public Library Board President Carol Graff and Beavercreek Community Library Head Librarian Emeritus Toni White will focus on its history from 1979 to 2018. Topics include the conception and construction of the current building in 1979 and subsequent renovations, the services and programs offered through the years and personal reflections of the peopel and personalities that have made the Beavercreek Community Library a treasure for nearly 40 years.
