Beavercreek firm lands $38.7M contract
Beavercreek-based Applied Research Solutions has been awarded a $38.7 million costplus-fixed-fee contract, plus an option amount of $5.9 million, for research work into sensing, learning, autonomy, and knowledge engineering, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.
This contract is for research and development of technologies and strategies to orchestrate closed-loop sensing that manages knowledge from environment understanding to mission effects, across multiple missions, the DoD said.
The work will be performed here at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, contracted out of the Air Force Research Laboratory, and is expected to be complete by March 4, 2024. The DoD said $1.2 million will be given at the time of the award.
The six-year-old Beavercreek-based company announced in September that it was hiring up to 60 additional employees to join its local staff of 70 after winning a $47 million, fiveyear deal with the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center. The extra employees would work in the Dayton area, Massachusetts and other locations across the country, according to Gary Wittlinger, an ARS managing partner.
