Center adds debt counseling service

-

The HomeOwnership Center in Dayton will be taking over the debt counseling service now operated by Centerville-based Graceworks Lutheran Services.

The program, Consumer Credit Counseling Service, started in 1980 and helps people get control over their debt, rebuild credit, purchase their first home and achieve financial fitness.

Nonprofit Graceworks, which has a range of services, stated this will help it focus on seniors and those with intellectual disabilities while ensuring credit counseling clients will still receive services.

The HomeOwnership Center, part of nonprofit County Corp, helps with first-time home-buying, down payment assistance and foreclosure counseling.

“With this addition, County Corp will be the leading provider of financial education and housing counseling in the greater Dayton area,” said County Corp President Steve Naas.
