Rake Rally volunteers

The West Carrollton City Beautiful Commission is seeking volunteers to help with the fourth-annual Rake Rally event at 9 a.m. Saturday, starting at the Civic Center, 300 E. Central Ave.

The event is aimed at assisting West Carrollton residents who need help getting their frontyard leaves to the curb.

All volunteers will receive a long-sleeve “Rake Rally” T-shirt for their service. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own rakes, leaf blowers or tarps, if possible. Some materials, such as rakes, gloves and bags, will be available.

The service department will conduct weekly leaf collection at the curb line through early December. Leaf piles should be free of sticks, stones and other debris to avoid damage to the vacuum truck.
