Donation lets vets adopt pets for free
Veterans can adopt pets for free from the Humane Society of Summit County for the entire month of November.
The Akron Beacon Journal reports the fees will be waived for people who provide a valid military identification, with application approval. The adoptions are being underwritten through a donation by a local military supporter and animal lover, the nonprofit said.
“We are proud to support the brave men and women who served this country through the Veteran Pet Program,” Humane Society of Summit County President and CEO Diane Johnson said.
