Agents arrest man, 29, in 2017 slaying

-

A man wanted in the 2017 shooting death of a Euclid man was arrested Tuesday morning in Cleveland, authorities say.

Cleveland.com reports the U.S. Marshals Service said Carl Holland, 29, was taken into custody without incident on the 1400 block of East 174th Street near the South Collinwood neighborhood.

In October 2017, Holland was charged with aggravated murder in the shooting of Robert Harrell of Euclid.

Harrell, 29, was shot in the head while sitting in an SUV that was parked outside a family gathering on Cleveland’s East Side.

Reports from Cleveland police say Holland went to the party with two others. Witnesses described his behavior as erratic and the hosts asked him to leave.

Holland walked up to the front part of the house and fired several gunshots, including several into a crowd of about 10 people, police reports and court records say. The people standing outside were not hurt.

Harrell was found by police with a gunshot wound to the head.

Holland has one prior felony conviction for vandalism in 2007. He was sentenced to probation, which he violated. He was then sentenced to 90 days in jail.
