Six people were arrested Tuesday related to the murders of eight members of the Rhoden family in Pike County in 2016.

■ April 22, 2016: A 911 call to the Pike County Sheriff’s Office reports two men were possibly dead. Investigat­ors learn there were eight shooting victims connected to the Rhoden family. They were: Hannah Gilley, 20; Christophe­r Rhoden Sr., 40; Christophe­r Rhoden Jr., 16; Clarence “Frankie” Rhoden, 20; Dana Rhoden, 37; Gary Rhoden, 38; Hanna Rhoden, 19; Kenneth Rhoden, 44.

■ May 3, 2016: Funeral services are held for several victims, which causes renewed calls for anyone with informatio­n to help authoritie­s.

■ May 27, 2016: Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine, in a visit to Pike County, notes the complexity of the case, saying, “I’ve likened it to a 1,000-piece puzzle.”

■ April and May 2017: Numerous search warrants are served, including at properties co-owned by Edward “Jake” Wagner and George Wagner IV.

■ June 2017: DeWine and Pike County Sheriff Charles Reader ask the public for informatio­n on George “Billy” Wagner III, 46, Angela Wagner, 46, George Wagner IV, 25, and Edward “Jake” Wagner, 24. They are not identified as suspects.

■ April 2018: DeWine says he hopes to solve the murders before he leaves office in January: “I certainly would hope we would have the case solved by then.”

■ Tuesday: The Ohio Attorney General’s Office announces the arrests of six members of the Wagner family. Four of the Wagners will face eight counts of aggravated murder, one for each victim. Each count includes a death penalty specificat­ion.

The other two relatives arrested – Angela Wagner’s mother, Rita Newcomb, and Billy Wagner’s mother, Fredericka Wagner – face felony charges of obstructin­g justice and perjury for allegedly misleading investigat­ors.
