Prison escape drama debuts on Showtime

Don’t miss: “Escape at Dannemora” — Ben Stiller directed all seven parts of this suspensefu­l, compelling and brilliantl­y acted drama series. Based on 2015’s stranger-than-fiction prison break from Clinton Correction­al Facility, it follows Richard Matt (Benicio del Toro) and David Sweat (Paul Dano), convicted murderers who both had risky affairs with married prison employee, Joyce “Tilly” Mitchell (Patricia Arquette). They eventually manipulate her into helping them escape, setting off the largest manhunt in the history of New York State. (10 p.m. Sunday, Showtime).

Sunday: Director Alex Gibney’s latest documentar­y series, “Enemies: The President, Justice & the FBI,” arrives as the Trump administra­tion continues to clash with the Department of Justice and the FBI.

The program examines the long history of conflict between American presidents and the FBI. (8 p.m., Showtime).

Sunday: Based on the wildly popular novel by Elena Ferrante, “My Brilliant Friend” is an eightpart saga that tells the intimate story of a friendship between two women from Naples that started in the 1950s and spanned 60 years. The series is presented in Italian with English subtitles. (9 p.m., HBO).

Monday: John le Carré’s spy thriller “The Little Drummer Girl” is the basis for a six-part thriller. The story follows a young actress (Florence Pugh) who, while vacationin­g in Greece, meets an Israeli intelligen­ce officer (Alexander Skarsgård) who entangles her in a high-stakes plot orchestrat­ed by a ruthless spymaster (Michael Shannon). (9 p.m., AMC).

Tuesday: In the wake of the deadly anti-Semitic attack at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, “Frontline” airs “Documentin­g Hate: New American Nazis.” The program investigat­es violent white supremacis­ts — including a neo-Nazi group that has actively recruited inside the U.S. military. (9 p.m., PBS).

Tuesday: Settle in for a Thanksgivi­ng celebratio­n with “This Is Us.” In the present, the Pearsons have an “unconventi­onal” holiday dinner. In the past, Jack, Rebecca and the big three spend Thanksgivi­ng with Miguel. (9 p.m., NBC).

Thursday: In the new special “Masterchef Junior: Celebrity Showdown,” famous folks such as Terrence Howard, Alyson Hannigan, Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith team up with kids and show off their cooking skills in culinary competitio­ns. In between the battles, Gordon Ramsay and Martha Stewart swap holiday-themed recipes. (8 p.m., Fox).

Thursday: “Meghan’s New Life: The Real Princess Diaries” is an hourlong news special that explores how Meghan Markle has been adjusting to royal life since her marriage to Prince Harry. Former palace insiders, historians and longtime royal observers weigh in. (9 p.m., ABC).

Friday: Ready or not, the blizzard of yuletide specials is about to begin. Tonight, you can chill out with “Frosty the Snowman” and its inferior sequel, “Frosty Returns.” (8 and 8:30 p.m., CBS).

Friday: And then there’s the 1966 classic, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” about the green ol’ grouch who is as cuddly as a cactus and as charming as an eel. (8 p.m., NBC).

Saturday: The 2018 action film “Tomb Raider” makes its TV debut. Alicia Vikander stars as the athletic archaeolog­ist Lara Croft, who investigat­es the disappeara­nce of her adventurer father by following him to a mysterious island. (8 p.m., HBO).
