Gallery exhibit
The Centerville Arts Commission announced that the February Art Gallery exhibit features work from the “We are Centerville” art contest sponsored by Connect Centerville, for Centerville City School students in grades K-5.
Originally part of the “We Are Centerville” event held in November at Tower Heights Middle School, the art contest encouraged students to include the people, places and events that highlight Centerville. Several pieces from that show are on display at the Centerville Police Department, 155 W. Spring Valley Road. The exhibit may be viewed until Feb. 28, any time, day or night and includes murals created by groups of students and individual work. The Centerville Arts Commission will host a reception 6:308 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 19 in the gallery to introduce the collection to the community. Immigrant families will serve their native teas and coffees.
Connect Centerville, an initiative of Centerville City Schools to promote connections between local and immigrant families with the Centerville community, is made possible through a grant from the Heren Foundation.
Centerville Arts Commission was created by Centerville City Council to involve the citizens of the Centerville area in the visual and performing arts. For more information, call 937- 4337151 or visit www.centervilleohio.gov.
