Firefighter arrested while boarding plane
A Cleveland firefighter was arrested Monday at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport when airline employees refused to let him board a plane because they suspected he was drunk.
Cleveland.com reports fire Battalion Chief William Graham is charged with disorderly conduct, a minor misdemeanor, in the incident that happened about 1 p.m..
Graham was given a personal bond by a judge and ordered to appear Wednesday for his arraignment in Cleveland Municipal Court.
Graham, a 30-year veteran firefighter, has been placed on restricted duty until the criminal case is completed, city officials said in the statement. Graham’s salary is $90,542 per year.
Court records say Graham’s arrest occurred when he tried to get on a flight at Gate C6.
The citation issued to Graham says he smelled of alcohol and was hostile toward airport passengers and employees. once and a 32-year-old man was shot multiple times just after 2:30 a.m. outside the Offshore Pub and Grub on Colorado Avenue at Kansas Avenue, police said in a news release.
Detectives did not provide an update on their conditions Monday afternoon.
Witnesses said the fight occurred outside the bar as it closed early Saturday. Gunshots were fired and people ran away, police said.
Lorain police officers found the 34-year-old man in the middle of Colorado Avenue and the 32-year-old man behind a nearby building.
Detectives are still investigating the shooting.
