CENTERVILLE — The developer of the Cornerstone of Centerville development announced Wednesday that Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant has purchased two acres and re-affirmed plans to build a 12,500-square-foot restaurant at the site.

If all goes as planned, the new restaurant will open in late summer 2019 in the portion of the development known as The Village at Cornerstone, according to a release from Oberer Companies.

A spokeswoman for Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant told the Dayton Daily News last month that the project was a “go,” and the announcement by Oberer says the restaurant chain has taken ownership of the property where the restaurant will be built.

“Our vision has always been to bring a full-service, upscale casual dining restaurant to our project,” Chris Conley, president/partner of Oberer Realty Services, said in the release. “Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurant has an excellent reputation for great food and service, and their wine club is very popular with their guests.”

The restaurant will include a patio for outdoor dining, Napa-style tasting room and valet parking, and will employ about 180, Oberer officials said.

Oberer also is breaking ground this spring on a 6,000-square-foot, fully-leased retail building and is pre-leasing an additional 10,000 square feet which will eventually be the final retail project of the Cornerstone North development, according to the release.

Founded in Orland Park, Ill., in 2005, Cooper’s Hawk now has more than two dozen locations nationwide. Each Cooper’s Hawk includes an upscale casual dining restaurant, full-service bar, private barrel-aging room, and Napa Valley-style tasting room and retail gift store.
