The new La Michoacana Mexican Market & Restaurant coming to Huber Heights could open as early as the end of May if all goes well with the final stages of buildout and construction, the market’s owners told the Dayton Daily News.

“We are opening another location thanks to the great response of our community,” said Jose A. Gomez, manager of the La Michoacana #5 store at 748 Troy St. in Dayton who will also oversee the new La Michoacana #10 store under construction at 6220 Chambersburg Road in the Huber Plaza.

“We want to make sure we continue to meet demands and are also wanting to reach out to more people. La Michoacana #5 in Dayton will remain open, and we wanted to expand and have more to offer” with the new 20,000-square-foot Huber Heights location.

La Michoacana stores offer fresh fruits and vegetables, an extensive selection of meats, Latin-American groceries, money transfers, bill payments, authentic Mexican dishes and fresh bread, Gomez said.

“My project is my commitment to continue working and supporting to better serve and offer better products and services to our customers and our community in Dayton,” Gomez said. “It is one of my priorities to continue supporting our community and to make the community stronger, more productive and vibrant.”

La Michoacana will open in the same retail strip where Alematic Artisan Ales opened this month.
