Man faces charges after fatal shooting

Kennar J. Woods, 34, was charged with tampering with evidence and having weapons while under disability for a prior drug conviction, according to a Montgomery County Grand Jury report released Tuesday.

He had been arrested after a deadly shooting last month and after being named a person of interest in the death of Brandon L. Cunningham of Dayton.

He was not charged in Cunningham’s death.

Woods remains on electronic home detention. February. He was convicted on two counts of aggravated robbery and single counts of kidnapping and improper handling of a firearm.

Johnson apologized in court to the community for his actions.

Judge Barbara Gorman told Johnson he “still scared a lot of people, petrified a lot of people.” Gorman also urged Johnson to continue his schooling while in prison.

All of the defendants charged — Taveon Felton, Skyver Palmer, Dannell Robinson, Damion Raglin and two juveniles — were sentenced in juvenile court. the Montgomery County Jail on two felony counts of drug possession and possession of drug parapherna­lia, and misdemeano­r charges including resisting arrest and obstructin­g official police business.

He attempted mixed martial arts moves and refused to comply with verbal orders from officers that led to punches and knee strikes from officers Monday night, according to an incident report from Dayton police.

The incident occurred on North Sperling Avenue. While in police custody, Walker removed more drugs from his person in the back of the police cruiser.

Walker was taken to Grandview Medical Center then later booked into jail.

The department began an administra­tive investigat­ion related to the use of force, according to the report.
