Now that a task force of 26 business leaders has presented its ideas to the city about how to grow our visitor and convention business and make improvements to the convention center, we feel our move will not negatively affect the building and should actually help enhance future space uses for visitors, tourism and local meeting space users.
We see our move as a great opportunity to be where a lot of the action is downtown. Twenty years ago, we were able to attract baseball downtown. Since then, we have seen many challenges to development in the core.
Fast forward to about 10 years ago when CareSource moved into its new headquarters in downtown; you could feel the change. Housing developers got busy and grew the residential marketplace, then more new development followed, including expansion of CareSource, Taylor Communications and the newly announced expansion of Stratacache into the former Kettering

Add the rebirth of the Arcade across the street from our new location and you get the feeling as to why we are committed to relocating in the heart of it all.
My thanks to a number of key chamber volunteers, board members and staff, City of Dayton leaders and especially to the leadership at CityWide Development, our new landlord and long-time chamber partner for their efforts to host us at our new location.
The bottom linis it’s a new day for our 100-plusyear-old chamber of commerce. We have always enjoyed being a part of downtown, not just for the great reasons discussed, but we simply have a love affair with downtown Dayton. That includes me personally, as I’ve spent most of my 43 working years in Dayton in or near downtown.
This move just feels right and we are excited to move even closer to where many of the current and future up-and-coming entrepreneurs will call home. to 9 a.m., Crowne Plaza Dayton, 33 E. Fifth St., Dayton. Topic: Annual BWC awards & updates
