‘Virgin’ star wants viewers to cry throughout season
Don’t miss: “Jane the Virgin”: “I want you to cry throughout the entire season.” That’s the message lead actress Gina Rodriguez sent out to fans as the drama-filled series launches what should be an emotional farewell tour. Last season closed with an OMG moment as Jane (Rodriguez), who is contemplating marriage to Rafael ( Justin Baldoni), realized that her supposedly dead husband Michael (Brett Dier) might have made a miraculous comeback. The action picks up immediately after that shocking discovery. So is that really Michael — or not? (9 p.m. Wednesday, The CW).

Today: The documentary series “Action” explores the legalization of sports gambling in the aftermath of the Supreme Court’s decision to lift the ban on sports wagering. It follows professional gamblers, bookies and oddsmakers throughout the 2018 NFL season. (8 p.m., Showtime).
Today: As the martial-arts drama “Into the Badlands” begins its final chapter, an imprisoned Bajie warns Sunny that Pilgrim can’t be trusted. But with his son’s life on the line, Sunny struggles with his decision to help Pilgrim unlock the Meridian Chamber. (10 p.m., AMC).
Monday: “Jesus: His Life” is a series that explores the story of Jesus Christ through the people who were closest to him. Each of its eight parts is told from the perspective of different biblical figures, including Joseph, John the Baptist, Mary Mother of Jesus, Caiaphas, Judas Iscariot, Pontius Pilate, Mary Magdalene and Peter. Tuesday: Is it the end of the world as we know it? As the heavenly comedy “Miracle Workers” wraps up its first season, Craig risks it all in a desperate attempt to save Earth and all of mankind. (10:30 p.m., TBS).
Wednesday: In the offbeat reality competition “Million Dollar Mile,” contestants can win a million bucks by running a mile. Only trouble is they have to deal with a grueling obstacle course — and a group of athletes trying to keep them from the finish line. Tim Tebow hosts. (9 p.m., CBS).
Wednesday: Based on the 2014 cult feature film, “What We Do in the Shadows” is a comedic, documentary-style look into the nightly lives of four vampires who hang out in Staten Island. And, yes, there are funny werewolves, too. (10 p.m., FX).
Thursday: Natalie Morales headlines the new comedy “Abby’s.” She plays a fun-loving ex-Marine who runs an unlicensed bar in the backyard of her San Diego home. Sounds like it’s one of those places where everybody knows your name. (9:30 p.m., NBC).
Thursday: “Tacoma FD” is a goofy new sitcom about the crew of a firehouse located in one of America’s rainiest cities. With few blazes that need extinguishing, they keep themselves entertained with various forms of tomfoolery. (10:30 p.m., truTV).
Friday: Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson make a dynamic duo in the new film “The Highwaymen.” It follows the untold real-life story of two former Texas Rangers who relied on their old-school skills to track down notorious criminals Bonnie and Clyde. (Netflix).
Saturday: Oscar-winning director Ross Kauffman’s documentary “Tigerland” tells the stories of two remarkable men, born a generation and a world apart, who have dedicated their lives to preserving the lives of majestic tigers in the wild. (9 p.m., Discovery).
