Miami Valley South names president

- By Kaitlin Schroeder Staff Writer

Premier Health has created a new president position to lead the growing Miami Valley Hospital South campus.

The Centerville campus was previously led by chief operating officer Joann Ringer, but Ringer was promoted to the title of campus president, reflecting the growth of services at the site.

Ringer was named president effective immediately and had been the chief operating officer at Miami Valley Hospital South since 2012.

“This new position more appropriately reflects the size and scope of both inpatient and outpatient services available at the site,” Mike Maiberger, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Premier Health, said in a statement. “Joann has been instrumental in managing the growth at the South campus while never losing sight of what is important – the patient always comes first.”

Miami Valley Hospital South is the Centerville campus that’s part of Miami Valley Hospital, the flagship hospital of Premier Health. Dayton-based Premier had $1.8 billion in revenue for 2018 and the equivalent of about 12,200 full-time employees as of November.

Ringer joined Premier in 1992 and led the expansion of the Miami Valley Hospital South’s campus to now include the Cancer Center, Maternity Center and most recently, the Joint and Spine Center, according to a statement from Miami Valley Hospital.

She is on the board of the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance and is a former member of the Board of Directors for South Dayton Metro Chamber of Commerce, the Junior League of Dayton Board, Oakwood Schools Education Foundation Board, and the Dayton Art Institute Associate Board.
