Miami Twp. could fill job vacant for years
Position of assistant administrator has been open since 2014.
Miami Twp. MIAMI TWP. — is seeking applicants for an assistant administrator.
The position has been vacant for several years as the township decided not to fill it since 2014.
“We’re just looking to post a position that the administration and the trustees want to see what resources might be available in our community,” Miami Twp. Board of Trustees Vice President John Morris said. “But we’ve not made a complete decision to fill that position.”
The salary range for the No. 2 administrative job in the township is $74,542 to $109,777 depending on qualifications, according to the township.
Candidates should “possess knowledge of township government, best practices in local government management and human resources, excellent organization and communication skills,” according to the job posting.
“Responsibilities will include assisting the township administrator in managing and directing the daily operations of departmental activities of the township,” the posting states.
The successful applicant will direct human resources and regulatory compliance activities, as well as ensure that the township operates within Ohio and federal laws.
The position “has great latitude in planning, organizing and administering the activities of the township in specific areas as assigned by the township administrator,” according to the township.
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, business administration or a related field, and three years public sector experience, according to the township. A law or a Master’s degree in public administration is preferred.
