The local entertainment destination Scene 75 hasn’t announced yet when it will reopen since closing from storm damage, but visitors will notice some big changes when it does.

Scene 75, in Vandalia at 6196 Poe Ave. and visible from Interstate 75, has been closed since the Memorial Day tornadoes ripped through the Miami Valley.

The damage at Scene 75 was significant enough for founder and CEO Jonah Sandler to take this as an opportunity to remodel and improve the establishment.

He’s been providing updates on the work via Scene 75’s website and Facebook page.

Photos posted to social media show extensive renovation work. One post read: “With the new massive space opened up, we are planning to incorporate attractions larger than any other rides seen at our facilities.”

Sandler said he was reluctant to make any public comments until reconstruction plans have been approved by the city.

The permit filed was to repair the structure to its original condition, which included re-anchoring columns and roof repairs.

Scene 75’s storm damage was significant. Large portions of the roof blew away and sprinkler pipes broke and caused flooding. Air conditioner units blew off the roof and were never located. Some walls that stood about 36 feet crumbled to the ground and many attractions within the building were damaged.

Employees have been there from the start to help clean up and move items around during the first phases after the tornadoes, according to the business.
