The ARCNet Consortium, under the administra­tion of SPGI, funds research that includes autonomy, precision navigation and timing and cyber-physical systems that will strengthen the national aerospace autonomy industrial base and quickly put these capabiliti­es into the hands of our warfighter­s.

Mark Pohl, ARCNet Operations Director, announced that the ARCNet Consortium has released its first grant subaward. “ARCNet has only been in existence for six months and we are already announcing our first grant subaward. Our team has worked exceptiona­lly hard to quickly put all the systems in place to announce this first award. We are breaking the mold of traditiona­l government contractin­g, which has always been our goal,” he stated.

The two-year, $4.8 million dollar grant subaward was presented to RBR-Technologi­es, Inc. to conduct cognitive machine learning. RBR-Technologi­es, headquarte­red in Odenton, MD, is a service-disabled veteran-owned small business focused on cloud developmen­t, software engineerin­g and data analytics. RBR-Technologi­es, which began operations in 2010 and whose workforce is currently made up of more than 75% veterans serves clients within the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Intelligen­ce Community (IC). Fuyao Glass America has been awarded with the Montgomery County Solid Waste District Business Incentive Grant. The grant, in the amount of $32,734.10, will go towards the purchase

of four vertical downstroke balers to be used to assist in the collection, sorting, and compacting of recyclable materials generated during production and distributi­on of automotive glass. In addition to the $32,734.10 grant, Fuyao will match the grant in the amount of $14,028.90, for a total project amount of $46,763.00.

This is not the first time Fuyao has been a recipient of the Solid Waste District’s Business Incentive Grant. The Corporatio­n was awarded this grant back in 2015 for $29,897.00, which was used to purchase a stationary compaction unit, cart dumping system, and monitoring system to be used as the primary processing equipment for Old Corrugated Containers (OCC). Fuyao also matched the 2015 grant with $12,812.73, for a total project amount of $42,709.73.

Montgomery County Solid Waste District offers grant funding to increase recycling at local businesses. Funds are available on a competitiv­e basis to all Montgomery County businesses. A total of $150,000 is available for the program, including $120,000 to fund capital equipment purchases and $30,000 for new recycling service contracts. Additional­ly, capital equipment purchase grants require a 30% cash match by businesses.
