Idea sharing takes flight with City2City trip
The Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce is breaking new ground with a new program where Dayton area business leaders can engage in meaningful dialogue and generate innovative ideas from peer cities.
In September, the Dayton Area Chamber will launch City2City, a three-day tour where leaders from our community can explore success, failures, challenges and opportunities with their counterparts in other communities. Our inaugural trip will take us to Minneapolis-St. Paul Sept. 25 – 27.
Business leaders will explore the good, the bad and the challenging aspects of regional mergers, learning how the area has ultimately embraced its Twin Cities status. We’ll also hear from executive leaders at major anchor corporations like 3M, Taylor Corp. and the publisher and CEO of the Star Tribune.
We also will take away ideas for advancing inclusive growth and ask our Minnesota counterparts what that means for corporate employers. Our visit will also include a tour to see first-hand how the cities attract and retain a global workforce through a high quality of life.
Other topics to be explored include workforce retention and development among immigrant and refugee populations and how the region leverages the power of innovation through the Mayo Clinic. Evening entertainment includes networking at one of the most popular breweries and a tour of Paisley Park, former home-studio of the music legend, Prince.
The cost per individual is $2,000 for members, airfare not included. This price includes hotel accommodations, opening reception, breakfast/lunch and bus transportation/fees for tours.
