Aug. 2-4, Dare to Defy Production­s

Dare to Defy Production­s’ Dare to Inspire Youth Summer Series concludes with Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler’s 1979 Tony Award-winning musical about murder and vengeance in Victorian London. 8 p.m. Friday, 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Brightside Music and Event Venue, 905 E. Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka

Aug. 2-11, Springboro Community Theatre

You won’t need a golden ticket to get into this production, the premiere show for the newly formed Springboro Community Theatre. The story of Charlie Bucket and the titular candy manufactur­er is being staged for free but patrons are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets for their own comfort. 7 p.m. Friday-Sunday at North Park, 195 Tamarack Trail.

Hungry for Laughs: Comedy for a Cause

The Renegade Stage comedians are back for a fundraiser benefittin­g Gettysburg Gateway for Men. Cast includes Jason Sprinkle, Cassie Sprinkle, Alec Weisbrodt, Cameron T.
