We Care Arts 5K

Local nonprofit, We Care Arts, invites community members to sign up for their 6th annual “Run, Stroll & Roll” 5K event on Saturday at 8 a.m. at Indian Riffle Park near the Kettering Recreation Center. Their 4th annual “Arts & Drafts” festival event, sponsored by Cox Media, is to follow from 2 to 10 p.m. at the We Care Arts on Wilmington Pike. Registrati­on for the 5k is $30. Arts & Drafts presale tickets are available now at We Care Arts and at the door on the day of the event.

This 5K is fully accessible and intended for all levels of physical ability. All participan­ts will receive a hand-crafted, one of a kind medal, created by one of the client artists, and an exceptiona­l “swag bag” filled with goodies by event sponsors. Compliment­ary event t-shirts will be available while supplies last. Each 5K participan­t bag also includes a voucher for one free admission to Arts and Drafts and a compliment­ary beverage at the event that same day.

The 5K starts at 8 a.m., with participan­t registrati­on beginning at 7 a.m. Race Day sign up will be available at the registrati­on tent on the Kettering Rec Center parking lot side of Indian Riffle Park, 2900 Glengarry Drive.

Following the event, all 5K participan­ts are invited to relax at Arts & Drafts for food trucks, craft beers by Warped Wing Brewery, a featured festival drink, on-site tattooing for a cause, Kids Zone activities, artisan vendor merchandis­e for sale and more.

We Care Arts has served clients in and around the Dayton area for 35 years. All event proceeds benefit We Care Arts, which uses art to inspire individual­s at all levels of physical and cognitive ability realize their full potential and reach their personal goals.
