Mayor: Plenty to do in Centerville in August
What a summer we have had so far — and the fun doesn’t stop yet!
The Centerville Summer Concert Series at Stubbs Park continues with Phil Dirt and the Dozers on Sunday at 7 p.m., with The Tom Daugherty Orchestra on Aug. 11, The Blue Leafs on Aug. 18 and the Centerville Community Band on Aug. 25.
Join The Centerville Police Department at Mystery Night Out this Tuesday, starting at 5:30 at Stubbs Park for a chance to meet your officers and have an exciting night of puzzle solving, food and prizes.
Follow that up with the Washington Twp. Fire Department Ice Cream Social on Aug. 11 at Fire Station Number 44 just off Clyo Road on Centerville Business Parkway.
Both are great family events and opportunities to meet those who keep us safe in Centerville.
Take advantage of the many opportunities at The Golf Club at Yankee Trace in August. Special congratulations go out to Steve Marino, Centerville’s head golf pro who has been promoted to Yankee Trace administrator. The new golf carts and the technology they bring to the golfing experience at Yankee have received rave reviews. Try one out and see what people are talking about.
Then, hit one like the pros and win like the pros: the Swing King Hole in One Challenge is available to every golfer on Par 3 Heritage Number 7. A hole in one could earn you $10,000 or $20,000, depending on how confident you are. One golfer has already won $10,000 at Yankee Trace with a hole in one on 7, so join us at Yankee and be the next.
All of the great staff at Yankee Trace is pleased to report the top two golfing days in the course’s 24-year history have been this summer. Golfers recognize the outstanding facility and value that Centerville brings with Yankee Trace.
Yankee Trace is more than golf, too. Every week this summer, Wednesday features Jazz on the Green, Thursday is the Summer Cookout and Sunday is brunch in the clubhouse. All are still going strong in August, so we suggest a reservation.
Lots to do in Centerville in August. Hope to see you around.
