Art on the Commons celebrates creativity

More than 100 artists from around the country will display their work Sunday during Art on the Commons, Kettering’s annual art festival.

Artwork for display and sale includes ceramics, digital art, fiber/leather, glass, jewelry, mixed media, painting, photograph­y, sculpture, works on paper and wood creations. Ceramics artist Melisa Zimmerman of Lexington, Ky., will be the featured artist.

Free children’s activities including a collaborat­ive cyanotype quilt and demonstrat­ions by Rosewood instructor­s. Kettering’s Kaleidosco­pe STEAM van also will be on hand with fun, science-based activities for kids. There will be live entertainm­ent on the WYSO Excursion Stage with Niki Dakota.

This is the 31st year for the art festival hosted by the Rosewood Arts Centre through the City of Kettering’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department.
