Woman, 77, killed in crash involving train
One person has died following a crash involving a train and car at the intersection of West Linden and North Riverview avenues in Miamisburg, according to dispatch records.
The victim was identified as Patricia Harris, 77, of Miamisburg, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.
The crash was reported around 11:30 a.m.
A woman called 911 after she witnessed the collision.
A pharmacist was indicted Monday on a dozen felony drug charges.
Steven Joseph Hogel, 34, of Miami Twp., will be arraigned Sept. 3 for 12 counts of deception to obtain dangerous drug charges, according to a Montgomery County grand jury report.
Hogel’s license has been suspended, according to the Ohio Board of Pharmacy online records.
The indictment alleges that Hogel obtained multiple drugs between Feb. 20, 2017, and Dec. 20, 2018, including breast cancer medications, anti-inflammatory drugs, powerful antibiotics and a drug to treat erectile dysfunction.
He is not in custody and was summoned to appear for his arraignment. morning was the second brush fire to break out at the facility in less than 12 hours.
On Monday afternoon, firefighters also responded to a brush fire at the facility in the 2600 block of Needmore Road, just east of Interstate 75.
Both fires happened in different parts of the facility and appear unrelated, officials said.
Tuesday’s fire happened in a tornado debris pile that is estimated between two and three stories high.
Firefighters used a contractor with an excavator to break down the piles and get to the source of the blaze.
The official fire’s cause is unknown and still under investigation.
Arson has not been ruled out as a possible cause of the fire and employees told firefighters they have been dealing with trespassers who are on their property to fish, investigators said.
No injuries have been reported.
Wagner Ford Road was initially closed, but completely reopened around 4 a.m. on Tuesday.
