It’s a family affair for Loose Ends Brewing Co.

The father-and-son duo of Kent and John Loose lent their names to their joint business venture for which John Loose came back to Centerville to open with his dad.

The new 175-seat craft brewery and restaurant to be named “Loose Ends Brewing Co.” is in the works at 890 S. Main St., a retail strip center in south Centerville, and the two men are hard at work turning their vision for a craft brewery and restaurant into a reality.

“The main factors that have led us to opening this place has really been about the beer and local community,” John Loose told this news outlet. We want to be able to give back to the town that we live and grew up in, and we plan to be very active in that regard.”

Plans call for offering a full bar in addition to the craft brewery’s own beers. The food menu will rotate and will include weekly specials, Loose said.

“I graduated from Centerville in 2005, went to Ohio State, and recently moved back from Knoxville, Tennessee to open this place,” John Loose said. “The focus for us is to be able to offer something for everyone and make it a family establishment where people can come in and relax with some great beer and excellent food.”

Centerville city officials said the city has approved the zoning use as a retail brewpub/brewery, and plans call for the addition of a patio.

“We have heard loud and clear the interest in more craft brewing options,” Centerville Economic Development Administrator Michael Norton-Smith said late last week in a release. “The fact that this is a father-son team makes their story all the more unique. Loose Ends Brewing Company will be a terrific complement to the dining and entertainment offerings already in the Centerville Shopping Center as well as those that will be coming in the future as the nearby Centerville Place development moves forward.”
