Miami Valley son Rob Lowe stars tonight in Fox’s ‘9-1-1’ spinoff

Don’t miss: “Star Trek: Picard”: Patrick Stewart reprises his iconic role as Jean-Luc Picard, the character he played for seven seasons on “Star Trek: The Next Generation.” In this latest chapter of the “Trek” franchise, it’s the end of the 24th century and, 14 years after his retirement from Starfleet, Picard is living a quiet life on his vineyard in France. But when he is sought out by a mysterious young woman, Dahj (Isa Briones), in need of his help, he soon realizes she may have personal connection­s to his own past. (Thursday, CBS All Access).

Today: Rob Lowe, who grew up in the Dayton area, headlines “9-1-1: Lone Star,” a spinoff of the turbo-charged hit “9-1-1.” He plays Owen Strand, a New York City firefighte­r who takes on the daunting task of rebuilding a station in Austin, Texas, that has been devastated by tragedy. ( 10 p.m., Fox).

Today: From “Veep” creator Armando Iannucci, “Avenue 5” is a new comedy set 40 years in the future when traveling the solar system is no longer the stuff of sci-fi fantasy, but a booming, multibilli­on-dollar business. Hugh Laurie plays the captain of a luxury cruise ship that encounters technical difficulti­es. (10 p.m., HBO).

Today: Larry David is back — playing Larry David — in a new season of “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” And once again, expect seemingly trivial details of daily life to precipitat­e a chain of hilarious misfortune. (10:30 p.m., HBO).

Monday: On the new competitio­n series “Spy Games,” 10 contestant­s live together and are each tasked with gathering intel on their fellow players while facing various challenges. Real-life intelligen­ce experts assess their performanc­es (10 p.m., Bravo).

Tuesday: Season 2 of the drama series “Project Blue Book” takes a look back at where the UFO conspiracy first began and spotlights real cases that ignited the country’s fascinatio­n. The episodes are drawn from actual top-secret investigat­ions conducted by the U.S. Air Force between 1952 and ‘69. (10 p.m., History).

Thursday: Season 4 of “Station 19” opens with a crossover event. After a car crashes into Joe’s Bar, Andy and Sullivan lead the team of firefighte­rs as they work to rescue their fellow crew members, Grey Sloan doctors and interns, and bar patrons before the building crumbles. The story then continues on “Grey’s Anatomy.” (8 & 9 p.m., ABC).

Thursday: The new sitcom “Outmatched” follows a blue-collar couple in Atlantic City, N.J., struggling to raise four kids — three of whom happen to be certified geniuses. Maggie Lawson and Jason Biggs lead the cast. (8:30 p.m., Fox).

Friday: Are you ready for more “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”? In Part 3 of the series, our bewitching heroine makes it her mission to free her boyfriend Nick from eternal damnation — under the evil eye of Madam Satan — and bring him back into her arms. (Netflix).

Friday: Aidy Bryant’s Annie begins Season 2 of “Shrill” on a high. She has faced her demons head on — her mom, her boss and her troll — and she’s feeling pretty good. But, of course, new problems soon arise. (Hulu).
