Levy conversation

-

The Mason City School District has scheduled a Facebook Live Community Conversation about the March 17 operating levy.

The conversation is scheduled on Tuesday, Feb. 11, from 12-1 p.m. at Facebook: @masonohschools. To host a conversation, invite ten or more people into your home, business or favorite spot and Superintendent Jonathan Cooper will attend and answer questions about the district, finances and upcoming levy.

Email CommunityConvo@masonohioschools.com or call 513-398-0474, ext. 24004 with the dates and times.

Also, Kate Fagan, author of “What Made Maddy Run,” will share how achievement culture affects teens, as well as the need to increase communication on the transition from high school to college.

Fagan will make her presentation on Thursday, Feb 27, at 6:30 p.m., at the William Mason High School Auditorium, 6100 Mason Montgomery Road in Mason.

This year, the district established a mental wellness team that includes four new mental wellness staffers, and partnerships with outside agencies for additional support for students and families.

Fagan’s book is about a college athlete. Through her experiences competing as a collegiate athlete and writing the book, Fagan can provide insight on the transition to college, the effects of digital communication and the lack of conversation about mental health and suicide.

For more information, call 513398-0474, ext. 24004.
