Thefts at gym target lockers, vehicles

Sheriff ’s deputies are trying to figure out who is responsibl­e for at least two thefts at Planet Fitness on Lyons Road.

The sheriff’s office responded to the gym around 10:40 p.m. Monday for thefts from vehicles.

In each case, the victims had their car keys stolen from their coats inside a locker at the gym, according to incident reports.

Deputies noted in their report that Centervill­e Police also had several thefts at LA Fitness in their city.

In one case, a victim came out to his car and found a man inside the driver’s side. The person ran and got into a black SUV and drove off. The victim said he didn’t recognize the man.

In the other case, the victim came out to find his car unlocked and his wallet, Fossil Watch and driver’s license missing.

Deputies are hoping to review surveillan­ce footage at the business today.

Anyone with informatio­n on these cases should contact police. counts of felonious assault, according to a Montgomery County grand jury report.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Feb. 20.

David Streeter is accused of killing his father, Donald Streeter, inside his Robinwood Avenue home between Feb. 8 and Feb. 9. capitol complex, according to West Virginia Department of Military Affairs and Public Safety Spokesman Lawrence Messina.

He said six people were stopped on the capitol grounds while carrying AR-15s and semi-automatic pistols Monday. A third man, Tyler Thornton, from Franklin Furnace, Ohio, was also cited.

It is illegal for any person to bring to the state capitol complex any weapon, according to a statute provided by Messina.

“Any person who violates this subsection is guilty of a misdemeano­r and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not less than $100 or confined in jail not more than six months, or both,” the statute says.
