ESPN’s College DAYTON — GameDay will film at the Frericks Center on Satur- day, the University of Dayton announced Monday.

Admission is free, according to a UD press release, and fans will be admitted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Fans can begin lining up at 7:30 a.m. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. The show starts at 11 a.m.

The traveling college basketball pregame show precedes Dayton’s 7 p.m. home game against George Washington. It will be the final regular-season game for the third-ranked Flyers.

According to UD, “Please be advised, it is possible the Frericks Center reaches capacity before all fans wishing to attend are admitted. The Division of Athletics will share updates via @DaytonFlyers on

Twitter. Fans are encour- aged to have plans for alternate viewing location should the Frericks Center hit capacity. This is primarily a University of Dayton student event.”

Students will have priority access and seating and can enter the Frericks Center at the north entrance across from Albert Emman- uel Hall Lawn. They must present a valid UD ID.

The general public, as well as UD faculty and staff, can enter through the main entrance on the west side of the building.

Fans can bring signs, but the signs can’t be on sticks or poles. Fans will be lim- ited to one sign per per- son, and “any signs con- taining profanity, political messages or inappropriate content will be removed by event staff.”

The Atlantic 10 Conference women’s basketball tournament is playing semifinals at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Saturday at UD Arena. That prevented the show from filming at the arena.

ESPN analyst Dick Vitale revealed the news that GameDay will visit UD in a video on the scoreboard Friday night during Dayton’s game against Davidson. After the game, Dayton coach Anthony Grant said UD was grateful for the opportunity to have “GameDay” on campus.”

“We’re going to take it one game at a time, so our focus right now is on Rhode Island,” Grant said, “but we’re appreciative of the attention and appreciative of the opportunity that presents, not only for our program but for the university and for the city.”

ESPN’s traveling pregame show includes host Rece Davis and analysts Jay Bilas, LaPhonso Ellis and Seth Greenberg.
