MCBDDS cancellations

-

To ensure safety and minimize coronavirus exposure for everyone, the Montgomery County Board of Developmental Disabilities Services (MCBDDS) staff has begun teleworking. The board’s first priority is to maintain services and the health of the people they serve. While all MCBDDS buildings will be closed to individuals, families, providers and the general public, if you have questions, you will be able to reach staff between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on weekdays by email or phone. Building numbers are:

■ Northview Center: 937-8900730

■ Southview Center: 937-2581446

■ Ritchey Center: 937-837-9200 If you have an emergency after hours, you can call the 24-hour emergency line at 937-457-2765. MCBDDS Events Update In light of the current guidance from the governor and public health officials, the MCBDDS has decided to cancel or postpone the following events:

■ MCBDDS Recreation: After the weekend of March 13-14, MCBDDS plans to cancel its recreation activities through at least the first week of April. Questions about recreation should be directed to Kathy Duffin at 937-918-2210 or kduffin@ mcbdds.org.

■ DODD #FamilyTalk: The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities #FamilyTalk event scheduled for March 16 was canceled by DODD due to the restriction of non-essential travel for state employees. They hope to reschedule this event, and will let you know when a date is set.

■ PAAC Meetings: The March 30 Parents and Advocates Advisory Council meeting, scheduled to be held at the Woodbourne Library in Centerville, and the April 20 Parents and Advocates Advisory Council meeting, which was to be held at the Ritchey Center in Trotwood, will be canceled.

■ DD Hall of Fame/Erin Ritchey Awards: The 2020 Developmental Disabilities Hall of Fame and Erin Ritchey Memorial Awards Luncheon Gala, originally scheduled for Friday, April 24, is being postponed. The plan is to reschedule this event and they will let the public know what date that will take place.

Given the uncertainty of the public health situation, if MCBDDS needs to cancel any further events, the best way to make sure you are informed is to subscribe to the board’s text message and email alerts. You can do this by visiting the website at https://www. mcbdds.org/list.aspx and following the instructions posted there. If you need help doing so, call 937776-0866 during regular business hours. You can also email abanks@ mcbdds.org for assistance. CONTRIBUTED
