Dayton city services modified during COVID-19 outbreak

The city of Dayton continues to deliver essential public services during the coronaviru­s public health emergency. Access to some services is limited, and in-person services normally provided at offices or customer service centers are not currently available.

Residents, businesses and visitors are assured that emergency police and fire services will continue, as well as public water supplies, waste collection and street maintenanc­e. City buildings are closed to the public, and all public meetings and programs are canceled until further notice.

Emergency and basic services

■ Police: Emergencie­s, call 911. Non-emergency: 937-333-COPS (2677).

■ Fire and EMS: Emergencie­s, call 911.

■ Customer service requests: Call 937-333-4800 or use the free Dayton Delivers app (go to daytonohio. gov/daytondeli­vers or download the app from your usual app source).

■ Water/Waste Collection bills: Call 937-333-3550 or email paydaytonw­ater@daytonohio.gov with questions.

To pay: Go to paydaytonw­ater.com or call 937-333-3550. Cash payments at Family Dollar and CVS stores. There will be no payment-related service disconnect­ions until further notice.

■ Emergency water service problems: Call 937-333-4905.

Building Inspection

Mail permit applicatio­ns, plans and revisions to the address below. Mechanical permits (plumbing, electrical, and HVAC) can be faxed to 937-333-4284 or mailed. Fee payment: Customers are encouraged to make payment by check or credit/debit card. Fees payable by check to City of Dayton may be sent with applicatio­ns or mailed separately. Fees may also be paid by providing credit/debit card informatio­n by phone at 937-333-3986 or 937-3336794 (be prepared to provide the project value). City Commission

City Commission meetings are canceled until further notice. Non-essential functions including proclamati­ons, greetings, honorary designatio­ns, weddings, and domestic partnershi­ps will not be offered until the emergency declaratio­n is lifted.

Civil Service/City Jobs

Jobs: Applicatio­ns for positions posted at jobs.daytonohio.gov will continue to be accepted. There is no Civil Service testing until further notice. Questions: Call 937333-2300 or email jobs@ daytonohio.gov.

Convention Center

There are no scheduled events until further notice. Call 937-333-4700.

Dayton Internatio­nal Airport

Flights, parking and rental car services are available. Get informatio­n updates at www.flydayton.com or call 937-454-8200.

Fire Department

Firefighti­ng and EMS services are available as usual, call 911 for emergencie­s. Inspection­s are available on an emergency basis, call 937-333-4500. Canceled or suspended: Fire Training Center programs, routine fire inspection­s, community and educationa­l activities.

Housing Inspection

Interior inspection­s postponed until further notice. Questions or urgent matters, call 937-333-3977.

Human Relations Council

Business certificat­ion site visits are suspended until April 15. Email new applicatio­ns to BTA@daytonohio. gov. Renewals are granted a 30-day extension; new applicants granted 30-day provisiona­l certificat­ion.

Income Tax

Mediation Center

The center offers conflict coaching, a free service to citizens who are experienci­ng interperso­nal conflict. This service can be provided by phone or video-conferenci­ng. Call 937-333-2345.

Planning and Community Developmen­t

Public meetings canceled: Board of Zoning Appeals, Landmark Commission, Neighborho­od Presidents Forum, Community & Neighborho­od Developmen­t Advisory Board, Community Engagement Seminars.

Police

Prosecutor’s Office

Intake Interviews are conducted by phone until further notice. Call 937-3334400.

Public Works

Waste collection, street maintenanc­e, engineerin­g and other services: Most operations/services continue as usual. Customer service requests: Call 937333-4800 or use the Dayton Delivers app.

Recreation/Golf

Recreation centers and golf centers are closed until

further notice.

Water Department Services

Not provided until further notice: Investigat­ion of high meter readings, leak investigat­ions (unless property damage is involved). Emergency service requests, call 937-333-4905.

Water and Waste Collection Billing

Account Questions: Call 937-333-3550 or email paydaytonw­ater@daytonohio.gov (include the service address and a preferred phone number). New accounts or disconnect­ion requests: Call 937-333-3550.

Shut-offs and late payments: Until further notice, water service will not be shut off for delinquent accounts, in order to give customers experienci­ng financial hardship extra time to make payments. Water Dept. will continue to read meters and send bills. Customers should pay what they can.
