Dayton rated No.4 for graphic designers

AdvisorSmi­th, the leading informatio­n resource for business advice and original research, released a new study, “Best Cities for Graphic Designers.” From their research, Dayton was ranked as the #4 large city for graphic designers.

The study examined data from 334 cities and is based upon graphic designers salaries, number of jobs, and cost of living in each city. AdvisorSmi­th categorize­d the data by city size in order to find the top 10 best small, midsize and large cities for graphic designers. Of the top 50 cities, 31 of them were large cities, with 11 being midsize cities and 8 small cities.

Some interestin­g data they found for Dayton is:

■ Dayton ranked #11 overall in our study of 334 cities, beating out Cincinnati (#14), Akron, (#39), and Cleveland (#50).

■ Dayton hosts 4% more jobs for graphic designers on a per-capita basis compared with the U.S. average.

■ The average annual salary for graphic designers in Dayton is $54,010, while the cost of living is 16% below the national average.
