Surgeries are done by appointment on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Cats must be unowned community cats and brought to the humane society in a humane trap.

The humane society has curbside rental of humane traps that can be picked up from the main shelter between 1 and 3 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Community cats will be dropped off in traps for surgery between 8 and 9 a.m. You must stay in your vehicle while dropping off a community cat. Call the curbside number and a humane society staff member will come outside and assist you.

Curbside pick up for community cats will be from 4 to 6 p.m.

To make an appointment for a community cat, call 937-268PETS (7387).

The humane society will offer a free virtual cat trapper training course every Wednesday.

The organization’s adoption program is available by appointment only. More information will be released soon.

STAFF REPORT is continuing hydrant testing and flushing that ends the week of June 7.

The fire department will check hydrants between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Water discoloration may occur as a result of the flushing, and residents are encouraged to let their water run until clear. If you notice the fire department flushing hydrants in your neighborhood, you should refrain from doing laundry and washing dishes for a brief period.

For questions, call fire headquarters at 937-233-1801.
