MONDAY Alton Brown Good Eats: Reloaded 9PMon (COOK) Good Eats: Reloaded

In the new(ish) episode “Take Stock: The Reload,” host Alton Brown takes another run at an illuminati­ng show from 2003 that taught home cooks how to make their own stock, whether it be veggie-, beef- or chicken-based. That was well over a decade ago, though, and now Brown has some new thoughts on how to create a better, more flavorful, faster chicken stock.

9PMon (TRAV) Buried Worlds With Don Wildman

“Croatoan.” That single word, found carved into a fence, remains one of the lone clues to the fate of a 16th-century British colony known as Roanoake, where the population of this Virginia settlement vanished without a trace. A new episode called “Demon Woods” finds host Don Wildman visiting another Virginia town where paranormal activity has been spiking. After finding what may be a link to the “lost colony,” Wildman retraces the path of a mysterious relic to see whether dark magic spelled doom for the ill-fated settlers.

Timothy Greenfield­Sanders’ new “Toni Morrison” offers an “intimate meditation” on the life, works and recurring themes of this masterful storytelle­r and Nobel Prize winner. Morrison’s personal story opens in the steel town of Lorain, Ohio, where she grew up, and leads her to ’70s book tours with Muhammad Ali and political front lines with Angela Davis. The film also features interviews with Davis, poet Sonia Sanchez, writers Fran Lebowitz, Walter Mosley and Hilton Als, and Oprah Winfrey. The Greenleaf family struggles to maintain a united front in the face of losing their church as this drama opens its fifth and final season with “The First Day.” Calvary is scheduled to be demolished in just under a week, so Lady Mae and Bishop (Lynn Whitfield, Keith David) could really use a sign from God. Heartsick Charity (Deborah Joy Winans), meanwhile, is left to cope with the fallout of her actions.

WEDNESDAY Cassandra Aarrssen Hot Mess House 8PMon (HGTV) Hot Mess House

Organizati­on expert and coach Cassandra Aarssen provides tips for individual­s and families who are feeling overwhelme­d by household clutter and chaos in this new self-shot series, which premieres tonight with two back-toback episodes. Each half hour opens with Aarssen taking a virtual tour of a client’s home, which typically is out of control via overflowin­g playrooms, stuffed kitchens and impassable, jam-packed basements.

Bishop and Pike’s (Noel Clarke, Ashley Walters) search for a missing girl leads them to Amsterdam, where they stumble upon a sizable human-traffickin­g ring run by the Markides family in the new “Episode 3.” Meanwhile, the Unit tries to exploit escalating tensions among Alex, Mikey and Eleanor (Stavros Zalmas, Ben Tavassoli, Gina Bellman). Ultimately, Bishop and Pike must take matters into their own hands after the Dutch authoritie­s prove uncooperat­ive.

THURSDAY Antonio Corbo Broke 9:30 PM on (7) (10) (12) Broke

A canceled birthday bash isn’t the only melancholy note in the episode “Sammy’s Party,” which also serves as the series finale for this freshman sitcom. When the original plans to celebrate young Sammy’s (Antonio Corbo) big day fall through, his relatives rush to set up an impromptu backyard party, where an unexpected guest catches everyone off guard. Meanwhile, Javier and Elizabeth (Jaime Camil, Natasha Leggero) decide to look for their own place. Kyle Bornheimer reprises his recurring guest role.

10 PM on (FREE) The Bold Type

Sutton (Meghann Fahy) struggles painfully with her complicate­d reactions to all the huge changes in her life in a new episode called, appropriat­ely, “Lost.” Urged on by Kat (Aisha Dee), a reluctant Jane (Katie Stevens) dips a toe back into the dating pool. Meanwhile, Kat is forced to turn to Alex (Matt Ward) for help as she tries to decide on her next move in the face of mounting financial insecurity.

FRIDAY Elizabeth Banks Charlie’s Angels 8PMon (7) (10) (12) 47th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards

Like most ceremonies taking place during the COVID-19 pandemic, the 47th Daytime Emmy Awards will be a virtual affair, with winners making their acceptance speeches remotely from their homes. One bright spot? At least these awards are back on broadcast television, after languishin­g on streaming social platforms in recent years.

8PMon (STARZ) Movie: Charlie’s Angels

Elizabeth Banks wrote, directed and co-produced this 2019 action film, the third entry in a film franchise that in turn was inspired by the 1976-81 TV series of the same title. Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska star as the titular trio of formidable female agents dispatched by executive Charles Townsend (voice of Robert Clotworthy), owner of the Townsend Agency. Patrick Stewart co-stars as John Bosley, Charlie’s original assistant; Banks also has a featured role, along with Djimon Hounsou, Sam Claflin, Jonathan Tucker and Nat Faxon.

SATURDAY Ewan McGregor Doctor Sleep 8PMon (HBO) Movie: Doctor Sleep

Mike Flanagan, who previously directed the 2018 adaptation of “The Haunting of

Hill House” for Netflix, followed that up with this 2019 adaptation of Stephen King’s 2013 literary sequel to his chilling masterwork “The Shining.” Ewan McGregor stars as the now-adult Danny Torrance, who is trying to recover from the chronic alcoholism he fell into to mute his psychic power when he starts getting telepathic messages from a young girl (Kyliegh Curran) who also has a shining.

10 PM on (TRAV) Terror in the Woods

A family who is in the process of very happily settling into their new home suddenly have a case of buyer’s remorse after they stumble upon a terrifying creature while taking a walk in the woods surroundin­g their residence in a new episode called “We Were Goners and I Smelled Rotting Flesh.” In another segment, a young woman encounters an eerie apparition in a Kentucky cemetery.

SUNDAY Michelle McNamara I’ll Be Gone in the Dark 8PMon (7) (10) (12) (BET) The BET Awards 2020

The annual ceremonies celebratin­g AfricanAme­ricans and other American minorities in music, acting, sports and other fields of entertainm­ent over the past year air live in most markets from Los Angeles, with actress and comic Amanda Seales serving as host. Among this year’s field of nominees, Drake leads with six nods, followed by Megan Thee Stallion and Roddy Ricci with five each.

10 PM on (HBO) I’ll Be Gone in the Dark

Based on her book of the same title, this six-part documentar­y explores writer and blogger Michelle McNamara’s investigat­ion into a violent predator she eventually would dub the Golden State Killer. Known initially as the East Area Rapist, this serial killer terrorized California in the 1970s and ’80s, when 50 home-invasion rapes and at least a dozen murders were attributed to him. In the premiere, McNamara delves into online chat rooms and crime blogs.
