Dayton police say an argument at a local jazz club led to the shooting death of a Dayton woman over the weekend.

Tarmeisha Brown, 24, was charged with two counts of murder and four counts of felonious assault in Dayton Municipal Court. She appeared Monday afternoon where a $1 million bond was set against her.

She is currently incarcerated at the Montgomery County Jail and due back in court on June 30 for a preliminary hearing, according to court documents.

Brown was arrested in connection to the death of Destiny Bellfo, who was shot Saturday morning on Almond Avenue in Dayton, according to police.

Bellfo, 28, died Saturday at Miami Valley Hospital, said

Montgomery County Coroner Kent Harshbarger. A police affidavit filed in Dayton Municipal Court says Bellfo’s sister was also shot in the leg during the incident.

She suffered non-life-threatening injuries, Dayton Police Lt. Jason Hall said.

The incident began as a verbal or physical altercation at Rick Jazz Lab, Hall said, and escalated into gunfire.

“From the club, two groups of individuals traveled from there to Almond and unfortunately gunfire erupted,” Hall said.

He said the groups knew each other before the incident.

Rick’s Jazz Lab was the scene of a different fatal shooting last year where authorities say Brandon Harris was shot and killed. Authorities said the club is cooperating with police in both investigations.

Medics and police responded to the 200 block of Almond Avenue around 4 a.m. Hall said Brown was on the scene when police arrived and was taken into custody without incident.

Emergency 911 calls obtained by the Dayton Daily News details a chaotic scene. Multiple people called to report the shooting.

“This girl’s out here arguing in the parking lot,” she said. “...They are out here shooting. I’m scared for my life.”

Another woman who called 911 reported there were multiple girls outside and that someone was shot and not breathing.
