How will Dayton survive COVID-19 pandemic?

Dayton Daily News town hall to discuss virus impact, future.

A submicrosc­opic infectious agent has changed nearly every aspect of human life.

Daytonians, like people around the world, are seeking paths through the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Dayton Daily News will hold the next in its series of town hall meetings 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 16.

The event, Community Conversati­ons: Living Through the Pandemic, will be streamed live on Dayton Daily News’s Facebook page.

”Our community is living through a long summer under a pandemic. It is important that we all know how to stay safe and we hope this conversati­on gives people good insight on what they can do today and all the way through this time,” Jim Bebbington, the newspaper’s editor in chief said.

Among other things, panelists will be asked to discuss how the coronaviru­s has impacted life in the Dayton area and what the future might look like; explain safety precaution­s and how they are or are not working and provide informatio­n about what people can do.

■ Entreprene­urs Marketplac­e owner Tae Winston

■ Public Health – Dayton & Montgomery County Medical Director Dr. Michael Dohn

■ Mad River School District Superinten­dent Chad Wyen

■ Dan Young, co-owner of Young’s Jersey Dairy and former Ohio Restaurant Associatio­n president.

The hour-long discussion­s will be moderated by Amelia Robinson, the newspaper’s community impact editor.
