Wild India, 8 PM on BBCA; 2:15 AM on BBCA: Emmy Award winner Sir David Attenborou­gh narrates this new one-hour special, which explores the state of Karnataka in Southern India, home to rain forests, coral reefs and a vast and diverse population of animals. Although Karnataka makes up only five percent of India’s landmass, a jaw-dropping 25 percent of all the country’s animal species live there, including more elephants and wild tigers than anywhere else on Earth. Camera teams spent three years, adding up to 15,000 hours in the field, gathering footage for this presentati­on.

Movie: A Most Violent Year, 8 PM on SHOW: Despite a cast headed by rising A-list stars

Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain, writer-director J.C. Chandor’s 2014 crime drama got blanked at the box office upon its initial release, but finally is garnering belated appreciati­on, thanks largely to widespread critical acclaim. Isaac stars as New York businessma­n Abel Morales, whose up-andcoming company suffers when his trucks repeatedly are hit by hijackers, so he decides to arm his drivers. Chastain plays his strongwill­ed wife, Anna; David Oyelowo, Alessandro Nivola and Albert Brooks also star.
