Movie: Queen & Slim, 8 PM on HBO: Jodie TurnerSmith (“Jett”) and Daniel Kaluuya (“Get Out”) earned warm reviews in the title roles of this characterdriven combination of romance, road trip and crime drama from Melina Matsoukas (in her feature directing debut), with a screenplay from Lena Waithe (“The Chi”). The film opens with Queen, a criminal lawyer, on her first, awkward Tinder date with Slim in a diner. Later, as he’s driving her home, a routine traffic stop that starts out harmlessly goes badly wrong, forcing the pair to flee. Bokeem Woodbine and Chloe Sevigny co-star.
