A former NFL player said he’s working to move his decade-old business to a Miami Twp site because it’s easily accessible tothe region and his client base.

Renegade Warehouse owner Matt Muncy, plans to build a new, nearly 10,000-square-foot sports exercise and training facility that would include a rehabilitation component. It will be located on two acres on Wood Road less than a mile southwest of theAustin Boulevard interchange.

“We’re doing things right, while not getting too extravagant, to stay true to who we are, butwe’re excited to offer somemuch improved amenities with some absolutely awesome outdoor space,” said Muncy, a Miamisburg High School graduate, in a recent post to Renegade Warehouse’s Facebook page.

MiamiTwp. trustees voted at their most recent meeting to approve rezoning for the site on which the business will be constructed.

Muncy, who sawsupport forhis project fromlocal residents during a three-anda-half hour zoning commission meeting held theweek before trustees met, said then that relocating Renegade Warehouse to Miami Twp. means providing an easily accessible location for its clients, many of whom live nearby in Springboro.

He told township trustees that “it didn’t make sense to continue to lease any more” knowing that Renegade Warehouse intends to continue on a long-term basis.

“Wewere lucky enough to have this opportunity that the township let us in on and it’s definitely the best opportunity for us moving forward fromhere,” Muncy said during the meeting. “It’s going to dowonders for the business.”

Muncy via social media said he could not have accomplished anything or been in this position without his wife Chelsea, whom he said “never gets the credit she deserves.”

“Beyond that we both could not have done it without all the great coacheswe have had over the years, EthanMotley being ourmost loyal, longest tenured one who’s become absolutely indispensable,” he said.

A certified strength and conditioning specialist, Muncy played football at Ohio University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree. He later signed NFL free agent contracts with the Cincinnati Bengals and the Tennessee Titans.

Matt and Chelsea Muncy openedRenegadeWarehouse in 2010 with a 2,915-squarefoot West Carrollton facility. Growth of the business saw it relocate in 2013 to a 12,000 square foot facility on South Alex Road.

The Miami Twp. site is part of the Austin Center Joint Economic Development District, an income tax-sharing area the township has with Miamisburg and Springboro.
