Northridge schoolswelcome newteaching staffmembers
Northridge Local Schools welcomes three new teaching staff members to the Northridge Family.
Susan Landis is the new Spanish teacher. She comes to the district with great experience in foreign language and said: “I am truly looking forward to getting back in the Spanish classroom. I havealwaysheardmanygreat things about Northridge and decideditwastimetobecome a Polar Bear.”
Amber Hughes is a new first-grade teacher. She is familiar to Northridge, as she graduated from Northridge High School in 2012. “To me, having the opportunity to teach in Northridge holds a special place in my heart. It’s anamazing feeling to give back to the place where I grew up. I’m excited to see wherethisjourneytakesme,” she said.
Tyler Venters is the new sixth-grade science teacher. He is also a proud alumni of Northridge Local Schools, graduating in 2015. “I am really looking forward to this year. Iamexcited to be back in Northridge and to able to give back to the community,” he said.
New teachers attended a day-longorientation, learning about the district’s visionand coreValues. Theyheardfrom the technology department, curriculumdepartment, food services department, and other departments across the district about procedures andprocesses. Theywerealso givena tourof theNorthridge community during their orientation, leadby Superintendent Dave Jackson. This orientationhelpsnewstaffmembersstartthenewschoolyear off on the right foot.
