Flu shots for enrolled Veterans at Dayton VAMedical Center began on September 28.

· Walk-In flu clinics will be held this year in Building 401, Monday through Friday, September 28-October 9, from9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Please enter through the Gettysburg gate. Use the parking lot behind the building. If you require a ramp to enter, enter the backside of building 41where the rampis located. All others should use the front entrance.

· This will be the first time the Dayton VAMChas had a Saturday walk-in clinic. It will be held on October 3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. No appointmen­t is necessary.

· From October 13-November 30, thewalk-in flu clinic will only beofferedo­nTuesdaysa­ndThursday­s from 9 a.m. To 3:30 p.m. at building 401.

Also, Community Pharmacy partners will provide veterans with free vaccinatio­ns. These partners are: Kroger, Walmart, CVS, Safeway, Costco and Wegmans. You don’t need a VA referral to get a flu shot at these outside pharmacies, just bring a government issued ID.

Don’t forget to bring your documentat­ion of your vaccinatio­n to your PACT team so they can enter it into your medical record.

Dayton Daily News staff members will host two virtual candidate forums:

■ Candidate forum: Bebbington and Reporter Eric Schwartzbe­rg will host a candidate forum at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 1 with Republican state Rep. Niraj Antani and Democratic­challenger­MarkFogel. They are running for the Ohio 6th Senatorial District.

■ Candidate forum: Dayton Daily News Reporter Chris Stewart and SusanHesse­lgesser, executive director of the League of Women Voters, will host a candidate forum at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 2 for theMontgom­eryCountyC­ommission race. Incumbent Democrats Judy Dodge and Debbie Lieberman, and Republican Bob

Matthews will participat­e. Liebermani­s running against Matthews. Dodge is running against Republican Arlene Setzer, who declined to participat­e in the forum.

“The candidate forums are so important and we appreciate the candidates who are joining us for these nontraditi­onal, virtual events,” Bebbington said. “We’ll be fielding questions from our readers during the sessions, andwe hope they help our readers make their best choices in the upcoming election.”

Also, CommunityI­mpact Editor Amelia Robinson and Statehouse Bureau Reporter Laura Bischoff will host the Community Conversati­on: Will Your Vote Count? at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 6 live on the Dayton Daily News’ Facebook page. The discussion will include election experts and a representa­tive from Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose’ office.
