Santa Claus SPRINGFIELD— is returning to the rooftop of a house in the Ramar Estates neighborhood.

Kevin Elliott, a resident in the Ramar neighborhood, restarted the tradition last year after he and his wife, Angela, sawthe Ramar holiday sign for sale online.

“You can’t get rid of that sign— that is a part of Ramar. It has been there for years,” Kevin Elliott told his wife.

The couplemoved to the neighborhood a few years ago and found out the man playing Santa had passed away.

They decided to “jump right in” and bring the tradition back to the neighborhood.

By restarting this tradition, it allows older people to relive their childhoodmemories and children to experience something they will never forget, Elliott previously told the News-Sun.

Santa will be on the rooftop of a house on Marbella Avenue from7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and 7 to 9 p.m. on Dec. 23 waving, wishing Merry Christmas and dancing.

Last year, Angela stood in their front yard passing out candy-canes with their children, but due to COVID-19 concerns, they are not doing that this year, according to a Facebook post on Ramar Estates Santa & Lights!

Other houses in the neighborhood will be decorated.

“We’re trying to bring some of that holiday back — a lot of kids don’t get a fun holiday and don’t get to remember this kind of

stuff,” Elliott previously said.
