Time for HuberHeights to reflect, look ahead

-

December has finally arrived and is a time of year that allows us all a moment for reflection, thankfulness and thinking toward the future.

We all know that 2020 has been rough year, but I hope everyone will take a moment to help a neighbor, a friend, or a stranger who may be in need, lonely, or struggling. Consider a random act of kindness: write on a sticky-note a message of happiness and put it on a neighbor’s door, fill a bag of groceries to drop off at a local food pantry, take new socks or blankets to a shelter, or send cards to a nursing home.

Let us all be the light for someone else during this time of year.

I had the opportunity to host a virtual town hall (https://bit. ly/DecTownHall2020) on Dec. 4.

I was joined by Tim Kambitsch, executive director of the Dayton Metro Library, who also provided an update on the new Huber Heights Branch, which will be in the Southpointe Crossing development. The city is excited for the revitalization of this area and what it will be able provide for our community.

Finally, I would like to continue to encourage everyone to tune in to Board and Commission meetings, City Council work sessions, and City Council meetings through the “Watch Live” feature at www. hhoh.org.

All dates for these meetings can be found on the city’s website, but you can also watch past meetings and read through the agendas and meeting packets.

By engaging this way, it not only helps you to stay up to date with what is happening in Huber Heights, but it can provide you an opportunity to provide feedback, voice your concerns, and gain valuable insight into decision making processes that impact the entire community.
