Schmitz named hospice fellow
Wendy Schmitz, MD, HMD, FAAHPM, of Dayton, recently earned the designation Fellow of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. The academy is the professional organization for physicians specializing in hospice and palliative medicine.
Schmitz isvice president of Medical Care/medical director at Ohio’sHospice of Dayton. She received her medical degree fromLoma Linda University School of Medicine and trained in internal medicine at Kettering Medical Center. Following residency, she joinedSouthDayton Acute Care Consultants as a hospitalist for 10 years beforecoming toOhio’sHospice of Dayton. She has been
with Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton for 12 years.

Schmitzwill celebrate the designation virtually at the Annual Assembly of Hospice and Palliative Care on Feb. 17-19, 2021. She will be joined by colleagues working in the field of hospice and palliative care.
