Police Officer: The Miami Township

Police Department is currently hiring for the position of full-time Police Officer - lateral transfer. To apply, go online or pick up materials at the police department, 2660 Lyons Road. Applicatio­ns must be received by Feb. 1 at 4 p.m.

Planning Technician: The Miami Township Community Developmen­t Department is seeking an organized, self-motivated, and creative individual to join our growing community. The position is a full-time, non-exempt, at will appointmen­t, which will serve under the direction of the Director of Community Developmen­t.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Planning or similar discipline or have the equivalent of four years of combined

education or full-time experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

The position will focus on property inspection­s and violations, customer service support, issuance of zoning certificat­es, board of zoning appeals and zoning commission support, and management of files and data. This position requires an ability to profession­ally communicat­e effectivel­y with the public in verbal and written form on a regular basis.

The salary range for the position starts at $18.22 per hour and extends to $21.85 per hour and includes a generous benefits package including sick leave, vacation leave, personal leave, and paid holidays. Ability to become AICP certified upon meeting requiremen­ts is a plus. Must possess a

valid driver’s license. Forty hours per week, generally 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (some night and weekend hours required on a monthly basis, minimum one weekend per month).
