Lloyd joins Portman office Moretti new CEO
U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) recently announced that Matt Lloyd has joined his personal office as Deputy Chief of Staff and Communications Director. In that role, Lloyd will oversee communications for the Portman operation. The move comes as Portman is taking on additional responsibilities as either chairman or ranking member of the Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs Committee.
Emily Benavides will serve as Portman’s Communications Director at the Committee.
Lloyd brings nearly 25 years of experience at the national and state levels of government in both the executive and legislative branches as well as the private sector. In the Trump administration, Matt has served in senior communications roles at the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. He spent half his career with Vice President Mike Pence, starting in 2002 as
Tia Marcel Moretti, CareSource Ohio’s Director of Behavioral Health, has been selected to lead Kids’ CareAlliance as CEO. The Kids’ CareAlliance is a new collaboration between CareSource, a nationally recognized nonprofit health plan, and the Ohio Children’s Alliance, a statewide network of community agencies who serve children and families.
Moretti grew up as a multi-system youth in one of the most impoverished neighborhoods in the Columbus area. As an only child in a single-parent home, where her mother was unable to find treatment for addiction and mental illness, Moretti was often engaged in children’s services and other systems. Throughout her childhood, she witnessed firsthand the complexities and stigmas families face when trying to navigate multiple systems.
Now a licensed social worker and Ohio certified prevention consultant who has worked in the community-based mental health and addiction space for 22 years, Moretti has dedicated her career to serving Ohio’s adults, families and children who are impacted by substance use disorder (SUD) and growing the footprint of prevention services for children and youth impacted by trauma, adverse events and who were living with a parent who struggled with substance use disorder.
In Moretti’s new role, she will focus on working at the state and local level to lead the specialized managed care program. The Kids’ CareAlliance’s mission is to improve quality of life for Ohio’s children, families and caregivers by ending the stigma of complex behavioral health needs and the burden of coordination across multiagency systems. water, sanitary, and storm water utilities. The responsibilities include management of cash and investment functions, as well as participating in planning and policy setting related to revenue and service estimates, capital projects and rate setting.
Crist comes to Dayton Water with nearly 10 years of leadership experience in municipal contract and fiscal services. Most recently she was assistant director of financial services for the New York City Mayor’s Office of Contract Services, where she provided oversight of contracts with vendors, non-profits and other entities, with a focus on data management, systems improvements, forecasting, transparency and efficiency.
Crist earned a B.S. in Communications (2007) and an M.P.A (2010), both from Ohio University.
