Event canceled Prayer event

- STAFF REPORT STAFF REPORT

The Centerville Noon Optimist Club has announced the canceling of this year’s Tri-Star Basketball Event, normally held at Watts Middle School. This event hosts more than 100 kids from ages 7-12 showing off their basketball skills in passing, shooting and dribbling.

“After much discussion, we have decided to cancel this popular event. The health concerns of the pandemic still make this very uncertain for this spring.” Club President Debe Dockins stated.

“In the interest of safety for the kids that normally participate in this fun event and our club member volunteers who would have contact with these children and parents of the community we felt the need to cancel. We love this event and are extremely disappointed that we have skip 2021.”

However, this event will be back bigger and better in March of 2022 once we weather this pandemic storm.

The University of Dayton “Flyers for Life” group will hold a prolife prayer service at 4 p.m. Friday in the University of Dayton Chapel of the Immaculate Conception and online via the UD Campus Ministry YouTube channel.

Pro-life University of Dayton students are unable to attend the March for Life in Washington, D.C., but that won’t stop them from being there in spirit. Supported by UD Campus Ministry, UD Flyers for Life will hold a prayer service with a rosary recitation for students, faculty and staff focused on valuing and protecting the beauty and dignity of every human life.
